Manifested

detached but still feeling the one
this night could go on forever
it depends upon the rising of the sun

It could do whatever it wants
either way it will shine bright

i used to hold it once
I'm happy to have known its light

to wish i helped light a flame
a flicker of sparks left me blinded
and i loved it all the same

all i could see was beautiful
much hasn't really changed

may my heartbeat shake the earth
inscribed with fire reads your name

I had manifested destiny
standing there next to me
I'll miss your voice singing in my heart
and remember everything you said to me
It's been months since you left, I always knew you'd come back
never thought it'd be this hard without you, as if one gap
could separate me from what i love, it cannot, i won't let it
you're more than a "just for now" and don't you ever forget it

Hey Young World

I may not be old and wise, but tell you a thing er two
which ways to point your eyes, direction to point yuh shoes
it's important to lose once, then you know what to do
workin' hard for a reason, to keep doing what you need to
succeed, to believe, to mold this world the way you want it;
into something beautiful, a place worth living outta pocket
take it a step further, to give up is truly suicide
This world was made to live on for everyone, you and I
look into the eyes, of one who's learned from and witnessed
the ugly side of what could be in this world of mischief
Don't allow the bad to get you down, flip it n switch it up
life is better when not alone, if you get it then hit me up
you can do it all, as long as you admit possibility
you have more than just yourself, no need for soliloquy
picture this a second opinion, i hope you're feelin' it
allow me to free your mind if your mind is still in it

In some sort of distress, feelin something a bit less
call me a distraction with words to make you feel best
no more saying you can't do it, no more disbelief
keep your chin high as your spirit and embrace relief

This was written as a remix idea for the song "Hey Young World" by Fashawn on his cd . Boy Meets World.

I Remember

I remember when
i busted my knee you held me
when you told me wear the lotion
so the sun wouldn't melt me
I remember when
i was frustrated you made me laugh
when no matter the strength of frowns
you knew how to bring a smile back
I remember when
you knew how to calm the tears
when they'd flow as frightened water
you'd dry away all the fears
I remember when
I wrote a poem because i missed you
when your memory scratched my back
holding back i had to write this through.

I love you Uncle Kenny and don't you forget it.
Rest In Peace
