I Remember

I remember when
i busted my knee you held me
when you told me wear the lotion
so the sun wouldn't melt me
I remember when
i was frustrated you made me laugh
when no matter the strength of frowns
you knew how to bring a smile back
I remember when
you knew how to calm the tears
when they'd flow as frightened water
you'd dry away all the fears
I remember when
I wrote a poem because i missed you
when your memory scratched my back
holding back i had to write this through.

I love you Uncle Kenny and don't you forget it.
